CITY OF CHARDON 2020 SUMMER CONCERT SERIES POSTPONED

Collective Decision by The City of Chardon, Geauga County Department of Health, The State Department of Health and Governor DeWine

Chardon Parks and Recreation; Chardon, Ohio (June 29, 2020) – The City of Chardon, along with The Geauga County Department of Health, the State Department of Health, and Governor DeWine have made the collective decision to postpone all scheduled concerts on Chardon Square until further notice.

Due to the recent order issued by the State Department of Health and Geauga Department of Health around mass gatherings and events, as well as concern for the overall health and safety of our community, The City has collectively made the difficult decision to postpone any scheduled shows until permission is received from the Geauga County Department of Health.

Although it was a difficult decision to postpone any of the highly anticipated concerts, we all agree that pausing these events this year is in the best interest of the health and safety of our community, our guests and our staff members. We appreciate the support of our bands and concert goers during this challenging time. We very much look forward to a summer full of music and celebration on the square in the near future. We are hopeful that the restrictions will be lifted in July and are looking forward to bringing back live music on Chardon Square every Friday night.

Although we are eagerly anticipating the restriction to be lifted in July, please understand that there will be new protocols in place once concerts are approved. Participants will be expected to follow all guidelines to ensure our concerts can continue. Some of the guidelines we are expecting include: hand sanitizing stations, social distancing, Mask (optional), and limited designated seating.
